The mission of the Cleveland Platform Tennis Foundation (CPTF) is to advance platform tennis growth and development in Northeast Ohio by increasing public access and awareness, supporting meaningful lifelong engagement in the sport, and encouraging a cross generational social environment.
Flats Platform Tennis Center’s after school programs for middle and high school students offer a focus on academic success, exercise and healthy habits, and character building experiences by introducing the game of platform tennis.
THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART
While the COVID-19 pandemic has kept us off the courts, rest assured, it has not slowed us down in our work to open The Flats Platform Tennis Center. Here’s a quick status update:
- Permitting. Done! In the final days of 2020, the City of Cleveland granted us all our necessary permits. Happy New Year!
- Construction. Underway! The materials for the courts on already on the site, and work has begun.
- Ready for play. We're still not 100% sure, but maybe in time for 2021's SPL? We'll keep you posted.
We are excited about the new year, and our steady march toward making paddle in The Flats a reality. In the meantime, take care and be well.
As of January 2021, we are in the home stretch of our fundraising goal of $600,000. Thanks to everyone who has stepped up and donated so far. If you have yet to donate, there’s still time to do so, and forever be recognized as a Founding Donor. Help us get to the finish line by clicking the HOW TO DONATE button below.
