The mission of the Cleveland Platform Tennis Foundation (CPTF) is to advance platform tennis growth and development in Northeast Ohio by increasing public access and awareness, supporting meaningful lifelong engagement in the sport, and encouraging a cross generational social environment.
Flats Platform Tennis Center’s after school programs for middle and high school students offer a focus on academic success, exercise and healthy habits, and character building experiences by introducing the game of platform tennis.
THE WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART
While the COVID-19 pandemic has kept us off the courts, rest assured, it has not slowed us down in our work to open The Flats Platform Tennis Center. Here’s a quick status update:
- Permitting. The Design Review Advisory Committee approved our plans on May 14th, and we are now waiting for the city to grant us building permits.
- Construction. Once the permits have been issued, construction will begin.
- Ready for play. We are still on track for having four courts ready for play before the end of the third quarter.
We look forward to the day we can play paddle in The Flats, but in the meantime, take care and be well.
As of August 2020, we are in the home stretch of our fundraising goal of $600,000. Thanks to everyone who has stepped up and donated so far. If you have yet to donate, there’s still time to do so, and forever be recognized as a Founding Donor. Help us get to the finish line by clicking the HOW TO DONATE button below.
